The last we saw of Brandon Rios he was beating Mike Alvarado into submission in front of Alvarado's hometown fans near Denver, Colorado on January 21st. His next assignment could be for the IBF welterweight title versus Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs).
Bob Arum, who's company Top Rank promotes Rios, said on Friday:
"Eddie Hearn is going to call me on Monday. He's in San Francisco. He has a fighter fighting against Andre Ward and so once he gets back he'll let me know." (For the record Paul Smith is facing Ward at the Oracle in Oakland tomorrow night).
"Then it'll be up to Brandon and Cameron (Dunkin, Rios' manager) to make a decision.
Dunkin says he has an antsy client on his hands.
"Brandon wants any fight, it's not that he's picking this one - he just wants any fight."
If this fight comes to fruition it will be scheduled for September 12th in the U.K.
