Terence Crawford's KO win over Yuriorkis Gamboa is one of the leading candidates for 2014 Fight of the Year. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum thinks Crawford might top it with his next bout.
Crawford faces Ray Beltran on Nov. 29 in his native Omaha, Nebraska, and Beltran brings just the style to make another action bout.
"This fight between Crawford and Beltran could very well be the Fight of the Year," Arum said. "The styles and skills of both fighters guarantee as much."
Both fighters were respectful of each other at Tuesday's news conference in Omaha to formally announce the bout. They have a common opponent in Ricky Burns. Crawford easily outboxed Burns, while Beltran was robbed by the judges.
Now, they face off in a battle of BoxingScene.com's top two lightweights.
