In a little over two weeks Artur Szpilka (17-1, 12 KOs) will return to the ring at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, with newly hired head coach Ronnie Shields in the corner. It will also be the first fight for Szpilka since signing up with powerful manager/adviser Al Haymon powerful.

For his first assignment under Shields, Szpilka will face Ty Cobb (18-6, 10 KOs) in a non-televised contest. Although there has been talk of Szpilka pursuing a much stiffer test in his next ring return, possibly against someone like two-time title challenger Chris Arreola (36-4, 31 KOs), who is also contracted to Haymon.

"Artur wants this fight. But first, let's see how his next move works out," said Szpilka's promoter Andrzej Wasilewski.

Arreola was previously beaten by Szpilka's countryman, Tomasz Adamek - who Szpilka decisioned last year in Poland. And Adamek was trained for the Arreola fight by none other than Ronnie Shields, who now trains Szpilka.
