Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38KOs), expects a one-sided beating on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when the Filipino boxer faces Juan Manuel Marquez for a third time. After two close and controversial battles, Ariza doesn't see a third fight playing out in the same way. Pacquiao's stylistic improvements over the years, and his size, will overwhelm Marquez (53-5-1, 39KOs), says Ariza.
“I think Manny is going to destroy Marquez, he’ll go right through Marquez the way this camp is going so all the pee and throwing rocks won’t help Marquez,” Ariza said to mp8.ph. “Manny isn’t just bigger, he’s just a different fighter, he’s a more complete fighter, athlete, speed, explosiveness, power. It’s a question of physiology; he’s bigger, stronger and faster… what’s Marquez gonna do? He might be smarter and more technical but more cautious and at the end of the day it’s the more complete fighter who wins the fights.”
