Argenis Mendez Wants a Title Shot, Best Fights Possible

Super featherweight Argenis “The Thunderstorm” Méndez 20-2-0 (10 KO's) is classified as the #1 contender in the IBF rankings. He has enormous technical skills, speed hand and excellent footwork inside the ring. These attributes have turned him into a very tough contender for every top contender in his weight group.

The 26-year-old Méndez and his manager José Núñez, along with their team, as well as his promoters from Acquinity Sports, told to us that a title fight is coming very soon.

“We are preparing ourselves for our next opponent. We don’t even have a name or a date, but that doesn’t prevent me from training so I can be in the best condition of my career," Méndez said.

Claudio Lamont, the assistant trainer told us: “The boys in our gym train as if they are going to a title fight. It’s important for us to know that they will enter the ring in the best possible physical condition. Immediately and depending on the opponent, we will work on the technical end. Each one has his own set of skills and we work hard to polish the individual talent of all our boxers”

Mendez wants to land a title shot and then he intends to face the best fighters at his weight.

“This is what the boxing fans want and deserve to see, when I see other fights, I want to see the champions facing the best and this is what we will do.”
