Mexico's Ulises "Archie" Solis (34-2-3, 21 KOs) retained his UIBF junior flyweight title on Saturday night with a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Jether Oliva at the Benito Juárez auditorium in Guadalajara. Solis, 29 years old, feels ready for the other champions at his weight. The boxer he would like to face most is undefeated Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (29-0, 24KOs).
Solis plans to ask his promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions to make the fight. Gonzalez returns on October 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with no opponent being finalized as of yet.
"It would be a great fight and the public demands it. I have to face the best and I have asked my promter, Zanfer, to get me that fight with Gonzalez," Solis said.
