The IBF's flyweight world champion from Jalisco, Ulises "Archie" Solis (38-2-3, 21 KOs), finished a two and a half month training period for his fight against Filipino Jether Oliva (18-0-1, 11 KO's) , on August 27th in Guadalajara. The two-time world champion has a two month training camp in his native Guadalajara, and conducted under the supervision of the capital's renowned trainer Lorenzo Lopez. The fight takes place at the Auditorio Benito Juarez, promoted by Zanfer and TV Azteca will televise.
Solis would like to get a revenge bout with WBO champion Brian Viloria, who stopped the Mexican boxer in the eleventh round of their 2009 clash.
"I've seen a few of his fights and I know my opponent is fast, strong and young, and hits hard. I think this fight will be difficult for the first 6 or 8 rounds, but I hope my experience and the strategy that I made with my team will take the fight for us," said Solis. "One of my dreams is to fight Brian Viloria again. I'd like Zanfer and Top Rank to give me that opportunity. I'm sure it would be a great fight."
