The date is now set. The word coming down from Mexico is that Jorge Arce (52-5, 40KOs) will face Simphiwe Nongqayi (15-0, 6KOs) for the vacant IBF super flyweight title on September 15 in Mexico. Fernando Beltran will promote the show and TV Azteca will televise. The belt was vacated by Vic Darchinyan.
I mentioned the revenge factor a few days ago. Arce says the family honor is at stake here. Nongqayi beat Jorge's younger brother Francisco Arce to securehis mandatory shot at the IBF title. Arce wants to punish him during the contest.
"Simphiwe snatched away my brother's dream of fighting for a world title, so now I will have to compensate the pain we feel by taking Simphiwe's dream," Arce said to ESTO.
