The Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas saw two Mexican superstars send their foes packing a bit realy, but the packed house seemed to get plenty of bang for their buck.
It was short work for Mexican superstar WBC super flyweight champion Jorge Arce (45-3-1, 35 KOs), as the gritty fighter whooped his opponent Hawk Makepula (28-4, 18 KOs) in four rounds. One-sided encounter as predicted, Arce battered Makepula until dropping the fighter in the fourth round, which led to referee Vic Drakulich calling a halt to the action to prevent the fighter from suffering further punishment.
The new generation keeps on rolling. Future welterweight star Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (28-0-1, 22 KOs) beat up Shad Howard (12-9-3) for three rounds, causing the fighter to think twice about coming out for the fourth, leading to another TKO win.
