At the Metropolis in Montreal, as part of UGC 26, the NABA super featherweight champion Arash Usmanee (11-0-0), used his long body and hard punches to stop tough Mexican Isaac Bejarano (9-10-1) in the fifth. Usmanee dropped his foe twice to prompt the stoppage at 1:40 of the 5th round.
At the same event, young hope Roody Pierre-Paul (2-0-0) had a lot to deal with in his fight against veteran Tchikaya Mathias (0-5-2), before getting the knockout at 1:48 of the fourth round.
It should be noted that Arash Usmanee will see a lot of boxing in the coming weeks. He is scheduled to participate in the "Fast and Furious" series presented by the Groupe Yvon Michel at the Bell Centre on April 8. Usmanee will then fight on the undercard of the WBC eliminator between slugger David Lemieux and Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio, which is going to be transmitted over the airwaves of ESPN. Then he'll climb into the ring in Red Deer, Alberta on May 14. In both cases, the name of his rival is still unknown.
