The manager of undefeated featherweight Jun “Hercules” Doliguez, Elmer Anuran, has given former two-division world champion Gerry Penalosa the authority to negotiate with Top Rank Promotions on Doliguez planned fight in Singapore on September 21.

Penalosa himself confirmed our report in a conversation with the Manila Standard and indicated he  would deal with Arum’s lawyers on the finer points of the contract and will wait for details of the Singapore fight including his purse offer.

Penalosa said if the fight of Doliguez who has a record of 16-0-1 with 12 knockouts pushes through it would be a good measure of his ability while providing important exposure for the 22 year old Filipino southpaw.

Meantime, according to Penalosa, undefeated Dodie Boy Penalosa  has been forced to pull-out of the July 27 Top Rank card at the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macau on July 27 due to a shoulder injury.

But his younger brother, Dave Penalosa will figure on the card and is looking at a promotional contract with Top Rank.
