The Golden Boy Promotions card on November 10th at Staples Center in Los Angeles is shaping up to be a solid card featuring world class and young talent.
Add another young prospect who hopes to impress on this big stage.
Manager Frank Espinoza confirmed on Tuesday evening that unbeaten junior welterweight Antonio Orozco will fight Danny Escobar in a scheduled 10 round bout.
“All the contracts have been signed and Antonio will be ready for November 10th,” Espinoza told BoxingScene.com.
In his last fight on June 30th, Orozco, who hails from San Diego, was impressive in stopping Alberto Cruz after the third round.
Highlights of the fight were broadcast on that evening’s “ShoBox: The New Generation.” Gordon Hall, who is the executive producer of ShoBox, was in attendance that evening and was impressed with Orozco’s fan-friendly style that evening.
The Orozco-Escobar bout will be televised on Showtime Extreme.
“This will be Antonio’s first fight on television,” said Espinoza, who has managed Orozco for over two years now. “I’m pleased that fight fans can watch how talented this kid.”
Topping the Golden Boy Promotions card will be the Abner Mares defending his world title belt against bantamweight world title holder Anselmo Moreno.
