Super lightweight contender Antonio Orozco improved to 26-0 this past Saturday with a 4th round knockout of the previously unbeaten KeAndre Gibson (16-1-1). The fight served as the main event of the second installment of Golden Boy Promotions' new series on ESPN.
Orozco, who is highly ranked by all four major sanctioning bodies, started out strong and never looked back during the short lived fight.
"It wasn't as easy as it looked," Orozco told BoxingScene.com. "We put in a lot of work. We have to give a lot of props to KeAndre. He's a quick guy with great movement but our game plan worked. Start off easy, break him down, see what we could get and you know, we did our work."
The 140 pound division has a pair of interesting title fights coming up and Orozco is very interested in both of their outcomes.
On May 20th WBC/WBO champion Terence Crawford will face once beaten Feliz Diaz at Madison Square Garden in New York in a HBO main event.
"We just want a title shot. I am pretty sure that fight will be entertaining and may the best man win that night," said Orozco. "(Crawford and Diaz) are both good fighters. For me it just comes down to the opportunity. If I get it then great. That is what we want."
On April 15th, newly crowned WBA champion Ricky Burns will face IBF champion Julius Indogo in an unification bout that will take place in Scotland. Indogo is coming off of his first round destruction of long time Russian Eduard Troyanovsky.
"Indongo surprised Troyanovsky so it is definitely a good fight and Ricky always comes to fight. It is very interesting. No matter what think it should be a good fight," Orozco explained.
