For better or worse the comeback of Antonio Margarito will continue this summer and it looks like there has been a change in date for his next fight.

According to Sergio Diaz, who co-manages the former welterweight belt-holder, Margarito's next bout against Ramon Alvarez - the older brother of former two division world champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez - has been backed up a couple of weeks.

"His next fight won't take place on July 30th as has been reported. The date being worked on is August 13th with Monterrey, Mexico being the most likely location. Ramon 'Inocente' Alvarez has accepted and will be the opponent," Diaz told BoxingScene.com on Tuesday afternoon.

After more than a four year layoff after losing to Miguel Cotto in their second go-around in December of 2011, Margarito returned the ring on March 5th in Mexico City and struggled mightily to defeat Jorge Paez Jr, getting floored in the sixth round, before winning a ten round decision.

Margarito is hoping that a dominant victory over Inocente can secure a future showdown with his popular younger brother, who returns on September 17th against undefeated WBO junior middleweight world champion Liam Smith of the UK.

The 38 year old Margarito now has a record of 39-8 (27 KO's).
