On January 24 at the Staples Center in California, Shane Mosley will make what may be his last stand against the number one welterweight in the sport, WBA champion Antonio Margarito. Margarito has the size and power, and Mosley has the speed and experience. Margarito has been training around the clock in Montebello, California. He views Mosley as a very tough fight and will not make any mistakes by head-hunting.
"Mosley is a very experienced opponent. We have a good strategy to come out with our arms raised high. The truth is, it's going to be a hard fight. I imagine that he also has his strategy ready," Margarito said to ESTO. "I will not look for a knockout. I am only thinking about winning."
Margarito says to have had a very good training camp. He knows the public has him as a very big favorite, but he sees Mosley as a very live dog.
"Everything has turned out well during our routines. In truth there is no pressure in this fight, the people in boxing have the ability to choose the favorite, one or the other. I am only focused on that which is mine. To train in a strong way and to rise to the ring with the mentality to win. As you know Mosley is a tough opponent, experienced, fast and strong. He has shown that he still has what it takes in the ring," Margarito said.
