BoxingScene.com had been advised that former three time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito has received medical clearance to begin training for his next fight, which may be a rematch with WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto in the summer. Margarito suffered a fractured orbital bone in his November loss to Manny Pacquiao. The former champion has been recovering from the required surgery.

Margarito's doctor is very happy with the healing process of Antonio's eye. Margarito has not received clearance to begin sparring, but he's able to resume his normal training activities in the gym.
