Early fights from Cozumel, Mexico. Knockout specialist Antonio Lozada Jr. from Tijuana stretched his unbeaten record to eighteen, but couldn't add to his 16 wins inside the distance against Tomas Sierra of Toluca, who cut the ring off and attacked to the body.
Extremely tall Lozada who's white trunks resembled two loosely tied tea towls kept most of the fight at distance and picked off his opponent to collect a unamimous decison, which was not popular with a lively, but good natured crowd in Cozumel, Mexico.
In the previous bout, local favorite Wilberth "Huracan" Vicab stopped Vicente Rojas of Mexico's Federal District in 1.57 of the sixth. Rojas' was given a heavy nose bleed and not only lost the fight, but also a molar, much to the horror of the ring girls and fascination of the local tv station's camera man.
