Antonin Decarie (24-1-0) already knows the identity of the opponent he will face on February 11 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, as part of the third event in the Fast and Furious series, presented by the Groupe Yvon Michel. He will take on lefty Shamone Alvarez (21-3-0) of New Jersey, a former NABO champion (2007).
Alvarez has lost three of his last five fights, particularly against Joshua Clottey in an IBF world title elimination, and then against Delvin Rodriguez, again in an IBF eliminator.
Antonin Decarie's only career defeat was suffered in May 2010 during a championship bout for the WBA interim world title, which took place in France against former world champion Souleymane Mbaye. In his last fight, Decarie recorded the victory by majority decision over veteran Irving Garcia. Decarie has also held the NABO belt (2008-2009).
