Anthony 'Can You Dig It?!' Yigit (16-0-1, 7 KOs) faces undefeated Irish fighter Philip Sutcliffe Jnr (9-0, 6 KOs) on May 7 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg.
The 24 year-old from Stockholm fights on the undercard of Kubrat Pulev and Dereck Chisora’s European Heavyweight title fight and IBF World title eliminator, and is promising another ‘explosive’ performance following his emphatic victory over former World Champion DeMarcus Corley.
‘’He’s a tough opponent for me and I believe I will be a tough opponent for him,’’ said Yigit. ‘’We’re both putting our undefeated records on the line and we’re both coming to win, so I’m sure it’s going to be an explosive fight!
‘’I know Philip has the skill and strength to make things difficult for me, and I’ll need to be aware of that and bring my A-game to beat him. I’m looking forward to the challenge. These are the types of fights I want to be involved in.’’
This will be Yigit’s first test with new coach CJ Hussein in his corner. The Swedish fighter has re-located to London where he has been training with Hussein for the past three months.
‘’My training with CJ has been going great,’’ he said. ‘’We clicked straight away. I feel like I’ve really been developing and I’m looking forward to seeing what effect this has on my performance in the ring.’’
Hussein has also been training Swedish female World Champion Mikaela Lauren, and oversaw her victory against Ivana Habazin last weekend in Stockholm.
‘’I saw the work CJ was doing with Mikaela during her fight last Saturday so I know what to expect from him on fight night and I know what he expects of me,’’ he says.
Yigit is now looking forward to showcasing his skills in front of a sell-out crowd at Hamburg’s Barclaycard Arena. ‘’I’m a crowd pleaser,’’ he says. ‘’The bigger the crowd, the better for me.’’
And the London 2012 Olympian has encouraged his local fans to tune in and watch him in action. ‘’The fans back home know what to expect from me. They know they will not be wasting a Saturday evening by staying in and watching me fight,’’ he said.
Yigit’s fight with Sutcliffe Jnr will be available to watch live on Viaplay Fighting.

Dina Thorslund (6-0, 4 KOs) must prepare for her toughest career test having accepted the challenge of former two-time World Champion Galina Ivanova (16-11-4, 2 KOs).
The female fighters will meet in an eight-round super bantamweight contest on May 28 when the Nordic Fight Night hits the Arena Midt in Kjellerup.
Ivanova is the only fighter to have defeated Danish World Champion Anita Christensen, outpointing her in 2008 WBA World title fight at the Brondby Hallen in Copenhagen.
The Bulgarian boxer has now set her sights on Denmark new female boxing talent and has spent the past months challenging Thorslund on social media, posting a series of threatening messages using the hashtag #SavethelifeofDinaThorslund.
‘’Dina is just a kid,’’ said Ivanova. ‘’Someone needs to tell her boxing is dangerous before it is too late. Her promoter thinks she can become World Champion in the next twelve months, but I’m ready to prove them wrong.
‘’I’m surprised she has accepted my challenge. She is a good fighter but she doesn’t have the experience to beat me. She will pay in blood!’’
Thorslund returns to the ring following a first-round knockout victory over Sopio Putkaradze last month, and insists she is ready to silence the dangerous Ivanova.
‘’If she wants a fight, she can get it,’’ said the 22 year-old from Struer. ‘’She is nearing the end of her career so maybe that is why she has been calling me out. She must need some extra money for her pension.
‘’Se is a tough opponent, especially when you consider her experience, but I'm sure that I can win, otherwise I would not accept the challenge.
‘’I want revenge for Anita Christensen and revenge for Denmark, but I also want to prove that I’m not some cute little blonde girl being protected by her promoters. I’m here and I’m ready to fight anyone.
‘’My training has been going well and I will be coming to Kjellerup in the shape of my life. I want to prove that I’m ready to fight for titles, and by beating Ivanova, it will show I’m ready!’’
‘’We’re taking a risk my matching Dina against such a strong and experienced opponent. Danish boxing fans will remember Ivanova from her fight with Anita Christensen in 2008. Christensen was undefeated, like Dina, but suffered her first loss to Ivanova. This is going to be a make or break fight for Dina. If she wins it will show she is ready to face the best in the division.’’
