Earlier today at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Australia, Anthony Mundine retained the WBA "regular" super middleweight with a unanimous decision over countryman Nader Hamdan. The scores were 120-108, 117-111 and 119-109.
According to ringside observers, Hamdan was not strong enough and too slow to keep up with Mundine, who controlled the fight from start to finish. Following the win, Mundine called out Joe Calzaghe and Mikkel Kessler.
"Nader gave me a great performance," Mundine told AFP. "Once again the critics who said it was a mis-match, you all saw a great fight tonight. I thought it was going to go 12 rounds. He prepared like never before and he wasn't coming in with the mindset of being stopped."
