It's being reported that Australian heavyweight prospect Solomon Haumono (15-0, 14KOs) is going to break away from Anthony Mundine's Boxa team. Haumono is said to be frustrated by the lack of opportunities that are being offered by Mundine's team. Haumono feels that his career is being held back by always being placed on the weak undercards that accompany Mundine's fights.
"He doesn't think he's getting the opportunity he deserves," a source close to Haumono told - according to The Sunday Telegraph . "Sol's had enough of taking on blokes well below his ability."
Legendary trainer Johnny Lewis, who helped Haumono go from being a rugby league star to an unbeaten boxer, confirmed the fighter's decision to the paper.
"He's made the decision (to split with Mundine), so he must be going to back his judgment on it," Lewis said. "It's just how it's panned out. I still think that he has a big future in boxing."
