It appears former super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine made quiet trip to America for a meeting with Oscar De La Hoya; to discuss the possibility of making a splash in America under De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. Rather than take a rematch with Mikkel Kessler, Mundine vacated his WBA title and dropped down to middleweight. He believes that Golden Boy is his road to big middleweight fights in the United States.

"Meeting Oscar was a great deal, and he actually knew a lot about me going into the meeting," Mundine told WA Today . "I have always wanted to fight in America and fight the big names, and he sees me as very much a viable champion and thinks the big fights can happen for me in the future. What he wants to do is get me exposed the US market, he thinks I am the type of fighter that is really appealing to the public."

Mundine returns on November 12 in Perth, and plans to continue calling out his Australian rival Danny Green, who retired several months ago. Mundine's bout with Green in 2006 was the biggest fight in Australian history and made both men millions. Mundine says a rematch would be ten times bigger.

"Fighters … we have very big egos and like to think we are the best. He would want to come back and fight me for redemption because the first time he did not get beat, he got whipped," Mundine said. "(He could get) millions, multi-millions but that is something both parties have to agree on certain terms. I am sure he will make a lot of money, but it is up to him.

"I have got nothing against him personally, but we have had a great rivalry since he started coming into the game and calling me out. That was the mistake the first time, and if he does it again it will be another mistake. He won't have to go far to see the best fight, it is up to him if he wants to step back through the ropes it will set his heart pumping a bit and maybe he might say yes. If he wants me I am here for him. If he wants a whipping it is here."
