Former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine is look to Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions to help him secure a shot at WBA middleweight champ Felix Sturm. Mundine recently dropped down in weight to chase some of the bigger paydays at 160-pounds. He flew to the United States a few weeks ago and had a very positive meeting with De La Hoya. He told Oscar that he would like to fight Sturm as soon as possible.

"People are going to see a big year next year, God willing. Obviously I met Oscar De La Hoya and he's super keen on working with me and doing some big things and making the big fights happen. I told him I want to campaign in the middleweight division and if that means maybe fighting Sturm in Germany or wherever, then I've got to do that. We're going to put a lot of pressure on the WBA to make that happen because I will be mandatory [for Sturm] after I beat Pintos, and we're going to put the pressure on to fight him ASAP," Mundine told Sydney Morning Herald .

Because of the big money Sturm receives by fighting in Germany, he probably wouldn't leave the country to fight Mundine in America, or Mundine's backyard of Australia. No matter, Mundine would like to fight him in Germany. He says a fight with Sturm in Germany would allow him to avenge a 2001 knockout loss to Sven Ottke.

"I wouldn't mind going back to Germany and letting them know that I'm back and I'm a new man, and that I've changed from the young kid I was then, because I was pretty much an amateur when I first went over there," Mundine said.
