Anthony Mundine is on course to making a claim for a title shots against WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm. At the E.G. Whitlam Recreation Center in New South Wales, Australia, Mundine dominated Rafael Sosa Pintos over ten rounds of action to win by unanimous decision. The scores were 99-91, 100-91 and 100-88.
Mundine was in control of the entire fight with combination punching, but did wobble for a moment from a hard shot in the sixth round. Mundine tried to finish him off in the late, but the Pintos seemed to absorb everything and survived.
"I hit him with a few good uppercuts and stuff but I couldn't get them through to the sweet spot," Mundine said. "At the end he was starting to get desperate and desperate guys do desperate things. When I'm in the firing range, you might get tagged yourself, so you've got to be smart."
