IBO middleweight Anthony Mundine (37-3, 23 KOS) did his part to set up a rematch with Daniel Geale (22-1, 13 KOs). He dominated Argentina's Alejandro Falliga (17-6-3, 6 KOs) in a non-title fight at the Silverdome in Australia. The scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91. Mundine won a close split-decision over Geale in May.
Mundine had a very easy night. He spent most of his time stalking and trying to put Falliga away. He couldn't get to him and Falliga was more interested in lasting the full ten.
"He came here to survive, it didn't make it real entertaining for the fans, but I had to deal with what was in front of me," Mundine said to AAP. "I was feeling good, I was feeling strong, I caught him a few times but he kept on his bike and I couldn't pin him where I wanted to pin him."
In the co-feature, Geale (22-1, 13 KOs) won a dominating twelve round decision over Brazil's Samir Dos Santos Barbosa (22-6-3, 17 KOs) to win the vacant IBF Pan Pacific middleweight title.
