Anthony Fowler will be back in the ring in the first quarter of this year.

The Liverpudlian recently revealed a new training link-up and has been eager to get back between the ropes.

Fowler, who split with Dave Coldwell earlier this month, has joined forces with former Josh Taylor trainer Shane McGuigan down in Battersea, London.

And now ‘The Machine’, it seems, will be back punching for pay on March 7.

Fowler has been confirmed as an addition to an Eddie Hearn- and Matchroom Boxing-promoted card at Manchester Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN Stateside, that will be headed by a tasty super-featherweight clash between former WBA 'regular' super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg and ex-IBF world title challenger at 130 pounds Jono Carroll.

The 28-year-old will be joined on the card by heavyweight talent Hughie Fury and British super-welterweight champion Scott Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald, with a win, will set up a rematch against Fowler, potentially at Preston North End’s Deepdale stadium later this year, after the Scouser was dropped and outpointed by his fellow Commonwealth Games gold medal winner back in March 2019.

Callum Johnson looks set to meet Igor Mikhalkin in a clash for the vacant European light-heavyweight title and confirmation is awaited of a fight between Zach Parker and Rohan Murdock to determine the mandatory challenger for Billy Joe Saunders’ WBO world title at super-middleweight.

Ibrahim Nadim, who made his professional debut back in December, will return on the card, alongside Aqib Fiaz, former Commonwealth middleweight title challenger Jack Cullen, Sheffield's Dalton Smith and Fowler’s fellow Liverpudlian and former Team GB starlet Blane Hyland.
