The Star-Ledger reports that a battle of Minnesota middleweights is set to take place on January 12, at the Target Center. Anthony (The Bullet) Bonsante (28-8-3, 16 KOs) of Shakopee will clash with Matt (The Predator) Vanda (35-2-0, 21 KOs) of St. Paul.
The undercard will include Allen Litzau (11-2-0, 6 KO's), Jason's younger brother, taking on Carlos Rivera (9-3-0).
Bonsante's claim to fame was an 11th round TKO over Tony Ayala, Jr. in 2003. He lost bouts in recent years to Peter Manfredo, Jr., Ishe Smith and Allan Green.
Vanda was once a rising prospect, picking up a close win over Yory Boy Campas in 2005, but then losing an eight-round decision to a journeyman fighter named Martinus Clay in his very next bout.
Tickets are available at the Target Center box office in the main lobby and Ticketmaster outlets (ticketmaster.com or by phone at 651-989-5151).
