During a recent press conference in Panama City, WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno (28-1, 10KOs) received the championship belt of a "Super Champion." The sanctioning body also ruled that Moreno must face the interim-champion Nehomar Cermeno (19-0, 11KOs).
Last weekend Cermeno had an impressive knockout win over Mexico's Alejandro Valdez.
"It was a difficult fight. It was not my best fight, but against Moreno I'll be better prepared," Cermeno said.
Moreno was not impressed with Cermeno's performance over Valdez and has no doubt that he can beat him. He is waiting for an offer from Cermeno's side.
"The truth is, Cermeno was not impressive. He is a boxer who throws punches but does not attack. He ran from Valdez, a fighter stands in front of you and has very few resources. I hope I get Cermeno, I have no doubt that I'll win," Moreno said.
