The case of another fake boxer has been uncovered. Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today has discovered that promising super flyweight Robert Allanic who was reported to have lost by a third round TKO to Thailand’s Kaichon Sor Vorapin last March 24 at the Central Stadium in Phae, hasn’t been out of the country at all.

Allanic who has a 7-0 with 4 knockouts is a former amateur who has been training at the ALA Gym in Cebu in preparation for his scheduled fight against Orlan Enriquez on the undercard of the Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista – Gilberto Bolanos main event on June 12 at the Mandaue City Sports Complex and according to respected Cebu boxing patron Tony Aldeguer only just got a passport.

As in the scandal involving an impostor who posed as "Tata" Polinar and fought Medgoen Singsurat (3K Battery) for the WBC Asian Boxing Council super flyweight title last week, it appears once again that an unscrupulous Filipino matchmaker with the connivance of his Thai counterpart committed the same offense.

In the case of the fake Polinar, WBC representative and Bangkok Post columnist Edward Thangarajah said he was told by Thai matchaker Panya Prachakorn that the boxer was contracted by trainer Benny dela Pena who is known to work for Bong Obero, a promoter whose license was cancelled by the Games and Amusements Board. Standard Today also learned that Prachakorn was banned from Japan after he sent an impostor to Japan who was knocked out in the first round.

Meantime, Romualdo Mahinay, reportedly a boxer belonging to the stable of Aljo Jaro who operates in Thailand much of the time, was knocked out in the third round by Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym last April 22 at the Porkungpao Restaurant in Bangkok. Mahinay left the country without obtaining the required clearance from the Games and Amusements Board.

Several boxing people are demanding that  GAB Chairman Eric Buhain  investigate the series of shannigans in boxing instead of going after PBA Commissioner Noli Eala and pro league employees for failure to get a license. One well known promoter said "the rackets engaged in by unscrupulous and even unlicensed matchmakers and the exploitation of poor boxers with the possible connivance of GAB officials is far more serious than Eala not getting a license. In the case of boxers who are badly over-matched their lives are even in danger."
