BoxingScene.com spoke with trainer Virgil Hunter, who denied the allegations being made by welterweight contender Jorge Silva, who claimed in a widespread press release that Hunter, and his fighter, junior middleweight Alfredo Angulo, were making statements that he used performance enhancing drugs in last December's fight - which Angulo won with a ten round unanimous decision.

Hunter told BoxingScene that neither himself, or Angulo, have ever made any statements related to Silva doing anything illegal inside or outside the ring. Additionally, Hunter indicates that any statements being written on his behalf, or Angulo's, claiming that Silva is using or has used performance enhancing drugs - "are fabricated" because the statements were never made by either indvidual.

Hunter was surprised that Silva and his team would make such an extreme move, such as mass-mailing the press, when no type of claims were ever made against the fighter.
