Hard-hitting and unbeaten lightweights Angelo Santana and Ismael Barroso collide in a scheduled 10 round bout on April 12th, Gordon Hall told Boxingscene.com.
The 10 round bout will be the main event of a Don King Productions card and will be shown on Showtime’s popular “ShoBox: The New Generation” telecast.
Hall is the Executive Producer of the ShoBox series.
No venue has been announced yet, but one has to assume it could be in South Florida, where King’s office is located.
Santana (14-0, 11 KOs) is coming off a fifth round knockout over Juan Garcia of Michigan on the November 16th. The Cuban-born fighter, who resides in Miami, FL, has stopped his last seven opponents in a row.
Barroso (13-0-2, 12 KOs) knocked out Oscar Arenas in the first round of a scheduled 11 round bout on October 27th. The hard-hitting Venezuelan southpaw will be fighting for the first time in his career in the United States.
No word yet on who will fight in the ShoBox opener. According to Hall, light middleweight Joey Hernandez (23-1-1, 13 KOs) has been discussed as the co-feature.
