Angelo Leo (19-0) had a very successful 2019 campaign. The bantamweight contender capped off a 4-0 campaign with a stoppage victory over former title challenger Cesar Juarez on the Gervonta Davis-Yuriorkis Gamboa undercard in late December.
The 26-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico native recently appeared on is by promoter Mayweather Promotions’ Instagram Live stream that was hosted by the company’s CEO Leonard Ellerbe.
Leo answered fans’ questions on a variety of topics as the sports world has grounded to a halt during the covid-19 pandemic.
"I am just staying safe in this quarantine time. I am just trying to stay active, stay in the gym and stay ready for anything for when this covid ends. I am ready to get 2020 started on a good note," said Leo.
When things get back to normal and boxing resumes, Leo hopes to get a shot at a world title.
"I want one of the world champions. I feel like I am ready for a world title fight so any of the world champions in my division I am ready for you. Whether it be Rey Vargas, Murodjon (Akhmadaliev), Emanuel Navarette, or Stephen Fulton, any of those guys I am ready to fight," Leo explained.
Leo was also asked what his goals are in the sport.
"I want to become a multiple time world champion. I don't want to be just a one time world champion. I want to be a world champion in multiple divisions and possibly be pound-for-pound," said Leo.
