Amir Khan (27-3, 19KOs) will have no chance at winning a rematch with WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16KOs), according to the boxer's father/trainer Angel Garcia.
Angel sat ringside in Los Angeles and watched Khan, now being trained by Virgil Hunter, beat up previously undefeated Carlos Molina, who moved up from the lightweight division.
He says Khan should have no excuses over the four round TKO loss to Danny in July. Khan is pushing for a rematch with Garcia, who defends against Zab Judah on February 9th. Angel saw nothing to cause concern after watching Khan's comeback win on December 15th.
"No [I was not impressed], I was looking at the same guy. Khan has no chin, Khan can’t break an egg. Molina can’t break an egg either. He was a small guy built up for the fight and Khan did a job. But Khan was in shape when he fought Danny and Molina can’t hit like Danny, as Khan found out. He can take a punch from Molina, but he can't take a punch from Danny,” Angel said to Jose Nieves.
