The sport of boxing has been shut down all over the world since the middle of March.  No fights mean no income for most fighters but that isn't the case with Andy Vences (23-1-1).

The super featherweight contender last fought in October when he defeated Mark Bernaldez via unanimous decision.  He expected to return to action in the spring but with all boxing likely canceled through at least the end of May, that is not going to happen.

President Donald Trump has advised most Americans to stay at home through the end of the month but Vences has been very busy with his other gig as as a security guard which qualifes him as an essential worker.

“ F--k, I bet everybody going crazy but its cool man I'm actually enjoying this sh-t. I am taking advantage of it. There is hella work for me now, and I am working out at home with the wife so we good.  I am just keeping it simple," Vences told BoxingScene.com.

The 28-year-old San Jose, Calif. resident recently isn't just working a typical 40 hour work week while also staying in shape. Vences is working the equivalent of almost 2 fulltime jobs a week.

"I have been busy working two jobs. I do armed security patrolling shopping centers, schools etc. and I am also an armed security specialist at an Amazon data center.  I have about 72 hours a week of work plus I workout 5 days a week.  I know I will be out of the ring for a while so I figured I would take advantage of the quarantine by working more hours," said Vences.
