Undefeated prospect Andy “El Tiburon” Vences is all set for his return to the ring on Saturday, July 9, at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California in a Top Rank Card that will be televised by Unimas in “Solo Boxeo Tecate”.

“It’s been a good training camp. We worked very hard to get into the best condition possible and become stronger and faster for this fight. I am very happy with the work and will be ready to give the fans a good fight,” said Vences, who is from San Jose, California.

“I looked at some videos of Delgadillo and he is a come forward high-volume puncher that likes to go toe to toe inside the ring. We have worked on some things specifically for him, like putting and landing more combinations on him. I know he is hungry and will come to win, so I have to be at my best to win this fight,” said Vences.

Vences, 25, last fought on February 13 of this year in Studio City, California and took home an eight round unanimous decision win over Yardley Juarez of Mexico. This will be his third fight in the Fresno area.

“I like fighting there. It’s a small venue but not that far away from home, so some of my friends and family can drive down there and see me fight. I also have some fans in the area that come out and support me,” said Vences.

Vences is going through his last sparring sessions this week in Sacramento, California, and has been working with fellow pro Guy Robb. He will now start working on his weight for a fight that is less than three weeks away.

“This fight is very important to me. I want to do well and show my improvements. I felt that we worked harder and with more intensity for this fight and it will show in the ring,” said Vences.

If everything goes well on July 9, Vences hopes to be back in the ring as early as next September. This Monday, Vences will be in Los Angeles  to visit the WBC Office and to appear in the show A Los Golpes, which is taped at the ESPN Studios at LA Live.
