Middleweight prospect Andy Lee (15-0, 12KOs) continued his undefeated march in his hometown of Limerick, Ireland, with a fifth-round stoppage over Alejandro Falliga (14-4-2, 4KOs). Falliga, who fought almost every one of his pro bouts in Argentina, had never been stopped in the past.
The first major boxing event to be held at the University Sports Arena saw Lee pound Falliga into submission. He dropped Falliga four times in the fight, once in the second and three more times in the fifth before the fight was stopped.
Lee is scheduled to return to the ring on February 29 in Michigan and then returns on March 21 against Brian Vera in the main event of an ESPN televised card from the Mohegan Sun.
