LOS ANGELES, CA - Boxing returns to Maywood California on Saturday, October the 29th, as Big Star Promotions along with ShowDown Promotions and UBM – Union Boxing Management presents a six fight card, headlined by a clash between the son of one of Mexico's hardest punchers of all time, Welterweight World champion Pipino Cuevas, Pipino Cuevas Jr. 14-8 (12KOs) will be taking on undefeated Andrey Klimov with the WBC's USNBC Lightweight title at stake in the ten round main event.
Russia's Klimov fresh off a KO win in three over Ty Barnett in May, will make his second U.S. Appearance in his first bid for a WBC title after winning the Russian Lightweight belt in November of last year.
The 29 year-old Klimov, 11-0 (6KOs) will face his toughest test to date in Cuevas.
Cuevas, fighting out of Blythe, California is no push-over, with all of but two of his wins coming via KO, the ten round fight is sure to be a barn-burner, as Cuevas will come gunning and winning a recognised title, as well as beating a tough, undefeated fighter can only bring good things to the Mexican fighter in the near future.
The undercard will feature Garden Grove, California's hard-hitting undefeated Lightweight Jessie Roman 7-0 (5KOs) in a four round bout, facing Ensenada, Mexico's Cesar Garcia 3-8
Super Featherweight Vahe Sahuranyan 2-0 (1KO) fighting out of Granada Hills, Ca, will face an opponent TBA in a scheduled four round fight.
Jesse Villanueva, hailing from Palmdale, California will be making his pro-debut against Santa Ana, California's Ludwin Mandragon 0-4 in a Bantamweight four round bout.
East L.A.s' Lightweight Roberto Rios 2-0 (2KOs) will try face an opponent TBA
The card will be rounded up by an amateur bout TBA.
