David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

Andrew Moloney is now scheduled to face Pedro Guevara for a vacant interim junior bantamweight title on May 12 at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, Top Rank announced on Wednesday.
Guevara replaces former world champion Carlos Cuadras, who was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a torn Achilles suffered in training. Moloney-Guevara will serve as the co-feature to the Vasiliy Lomachenko-George Kambosos Jr. main event, to be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.
Australia’s Moloney (26-3, 16 KOs) is unbeaten when fighting on his home soil. After suffering a 12th-round stoppage against Junto Nakatani in a fight for a vacant junior bantamweight belt last May, he returned in December with a convincing decision over Judy Flores in Melbourne.
“I’m grateful that Top Rank and my team were able to get such a great opponent so quickly and to still be fighting for the WBC Interim world title,” Moloney said. “Guevara has only lost to world champions, and each of his defeats have come by either split or majority decision. I look forward to being the first person to beat him convincingly and making a massive statement.”
Guevara (41-4-1, 22 KOs), from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, is a former light flyweight titleholder who made two world title defenses in 2015. He challenged Kenshiro Teraji for that title in 2017, dropping a majority decision. Guevara saw his 10-fight winning streak end last November when he lost a split decision to Cuadras in a battle for an interim junior bantamweight title. In February, he outlasted Lamberto Macias via 10-round decision in Mazatlán.
"This is a fantastic opportunity,” Guevara said. “Moloney is a great fighter, but I want the WBC green belt. It’s an honor to be part of the Lomachenko-Kambosos event.
“I will not let my Mexican people down."
