The planned ring return of heavyweight Andrew Golota (41-8-1, 33 KOs) is still going forward as planned, according to the boxer's wife, Mariola. Golota has not been fighting since October 2009, when countryman Tomasz Adamek knocked him out in five one-sided rounds. The boxer's return will take place before the end of the year in Chicago.
"Every day Andrew whisks his son to school, and then goes to training. He trains even on Saturdays, Sundays and does 70 miles on the bike, so it is difficult to say that he's approaching this lightly. At this time, his weight is about 245 pounds and he hopes to lose about ten more pounds. [The fight] will certainly not be against a well known opponent. Andrew must first feel comfortable in the ring. If everything goes well, he can then move forward to a higher ledge," said the boxer's wife.
