Melhus, Norway's Andreas Evensen, 11-1 (3 early), has been handed a great chance to vault his career to a new level, as he told BoxingScene.com this week.  "My next fight is in Helsinki, Finland," began an excited Andreas.  "On 26th of March I will be fighting Peesaddaeng Kiatsakthanee from Thailand in a 12 rounds fight for the WBO Intercontinental Featherweight Title."

Kiatsakthanee, 20-8 (5 KOs), is a plucky veteran, and Andreas acknowledges this won't be easy.  "This fighter is definitely a step up," admitted the Helge Waeroy trained man.  "Even though I’ve met Benoit Gaudet [ultimately losing a close, eight round unanimous decision], this Thai fighter is a southpaw and has a lot of experience.  He'll be a tough nut to crack."

In spite of this though, Andreas is grateful for the chance to contest for a title.  He beamed, "I have not fought since the start of December, and I feel ready to fight again.  I also feel lucky that Pekka Maki and P3 Promotions are giving me this opportunity."

To finish up, the Norweigan explained that his training is going well, and that he's fully expecting to walk away with the 'W'.

"Preparations are going good," said Andreas.  "Now there are two weeks of hard sparring awaiting me.  After that I am ready for whatever.  The only thing on my mind now is this fight and to become victorious!"
