Former welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23KOs) returned to the ring on March 13th with a knockout victory over Josesito Lopez. Berto said that he took a few weeks off after the fight and that he will be getting back in the gym soon.
"I'm feeling good. I'm going to take another week off then get back in the gym. We have a great team and we are focused on getting the job done," said Berto.
Berto said that he is open to fighting all of the top contenders in the welterweight division.
When asked about IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, Berto told BoxingScene.com - "I heard he looked good (in his win over Jo Jo Dan). I would definitely love that fight."
Brook recently said he wants two more fights by the end of the summer. No word on his next opponent, but fellow Brit Frankie Gavin has been mentioned as a possibility.
