In the early part of the fourth, Berto dropped Ortiz hard with a huge uppercut. Ortiz got got up wobbling and Berto went for the kill. Berto went after him with big shots and Ortiz went down for a second time. Ortiz barely beat the count, but had no idea where he was and referee Jack Reiss stopped the fight.

ON THE UNDERCARD

In a light heavyweight contest, Edwin Rodriguez (28-2, 19KOs) fought fire with fire and was knocked out in two rounds by Thomas Williams Jr. (20-1, 14KOs), who will likely faceWBC champion Adonis Stevenson in the coming months.

The came out throwing and landing huge bombs. Both fighters were rattled within the first three minutes, with Rodriguez the more shaken up of the two. The same took place in the second round, where Williams was hurt against the ropes but then came back to wobble Rodriguez. Both fighters were throwing huge shots with little regard for defense. Near the end of the second round, a huge counter shot dropped Rodriguez down hard on his back. He barely made it up and the referee waved it off.

Up and coming featherweight contender Jorge Lara (28-0-2, 20KOs) demolished former multi-division world champion Fernando Montiel (54-6-2, 38KOs) in the first round. Montiel was down and hurt three times, before a huge right hook sent Montiel down and out for a fourth knockdown and the referee waved it off quick.

Unbeaten junior middleweight and 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha stopped Orlando Lora after the seventh round. After a few rounds, Gausha (18-0, 9 KOs) began letting his hands go, scoring often on the slower Lora. Anytime Lora mounted any offense, Gausha easily countered him to the head, particularly with left hooks. Lora (31-7-2, 19 KOs) had to deal with Gausha's quicker hands and a cut over his left eye, which likely prompted his corner to tell referee Zac Young to stop the fight after the seventh round.

In a competitive back-and-forth slugfest, lightweights Adan Mares and Jesus Aguinaga (4-3-1) fought to a draw over six rounds. Mares (14-1-3, 3 KOs), who is the younger brother of Abner, seemed to tire as the bout progressed into the second half of the fight. Both fighters were cut over their eyes, with Mares looking the worse for wear. All three judges scored the bout 57-57.

Junior welterweight Luis Bello (7-4, 3 KOs) scored a first round knockout over Darryol Humphrey. The fight was stopped at 2:59 as Humphrey (2-5) was dropped for the second and final time.

Welterweight Anthony Flores (11-0, 7 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over Carson Jones. Flores dropped Jones (12-5, 6 KOs) in the second round. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Flores, 60-53, 60-53, and 59-54.

In the opening bout, Manny Robles (10-0, 4 KOs) decisioned Rafael Reyes over six rounds. Reyes (7-7, 6 KOs) was deducted a point for a low blow during the bout. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Robles, 59-54, 59-54, and 60-53.
