Undefeated British prospect Amir Khan (8-0), tells Newsquest that he wants to head over to the Unites States when super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe decides to migrate across the ocean.

Khan said that he already spoke with Calzaghe about coming over with him to US soil, and Calzaghe was okay with the idea of the two fighters teaming up to make names for themselves in the United States. Khan is confident that his style will go over with American boxing fans.

"I've told Joe I'm coming with him. I said we'll have to look after each other and he's okay with that," said Khan. "I'm confident that my style and skills will endear me to the American audience but like Joe, I just need a break.

The young fighter realizes the recognition that Calzaghe is receiving in various boxing circles, and thinks Joe will open up doors in America that will benefit his own career in terms of landing big money fights against the best opponents.

"Joe's the British boxer that American fight fans are all talking about now. He's getting recognition back here in Britain, too, which probably means a lot more to him. Joe will be wanting to make more inroads into the American market because that's where the big money is in boxing. Hopefully, that'll benefit me as the States is where the top boxers are and that's where I want to be," Khan said.
