During a recent charity event, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan pledged to stand in the corner of his friend, Ricky Hatton. Last week British tabloid News of The World shocked a lot of people when they posted a video with Hatton snorting several lines of cocaine. The Manchester star entered rehab on Monday.
Several fighters have turned their backs on Hatton in the wake of the cocaine scandal. Khan is not one of those fighters. He expects Ricky to come back even stronger.
"I spoke to Ricky yesterday. He's in rehab, but we are all 100% behind him. If he needs any help, I am here, as is Team Khan. He is a rich young guy and has made mistakes. He got in with the wrong crowd. He has to learn from this mistake and come back stronger," Khan said.
