Amir Khan was recently put on the spot when asked if he would take a side in the May 2 bout between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao. Khan is good friends with his countryman, Hatton, but is also good friends with Pacquiao and they share the same trainer, Freddie Roach.

Because Khan and Pacquiao share the same trainer, the two fighters have trained together and sparred often at Roach's Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Khan said that he would not pass any tips along to Hatton. The sparring sessions with Pacquiao have inspired Khan to mentally recover from his 54-second knockout loss to Breidis Prescott.  He did admit that he will be one of Pacquiao's sparring partners to help the Filipino champion prepare for the fight with Hatton.

"I will be sparring with Manny before his fight with Ricky. They are both mates - both dead funny. It's going to be hard to know whose side I will be on - I think I will have to stay neutral," Khan said.

In the biggest fight of his career, Khan faces former three-division champion Marco Antonio Barrera on Saturday in Manchester.
