British star Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) still maintains that former champions Devon Alexander and Robert Guerrero are the frontrunners to face him on a Showtime televised date in December. Khan had attempted to get fights with both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, and struck out with both bouts. Pacquiao faces undefeated Chris Algieri on November 22nd and Mayweather will have a rematch with Marcos Maidana on September 13th.

"Those fights can definitely happen in the future but I need a 'tickover fight' in December," he told the BBC.

"We were looking at Manny Pacquiao, but that fell through. We looked at Mayweather but that didn't happen because of Ramadan. Opponent-wise we have looked at a few names, such as Devon Alexander or Robert Guerrero, but we have not confirmed anything just yet. We have to make sure they are available at the time. "
