WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan sat down with Sportsvibe Entertainment to discuss his return on April 16 in the UK, fighting the winner of January's fight between Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander, and going after Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the end of the year.
The status of returning on April 16 to the UK and the selected opponent.
Khan - There are a few guys we're looking at, [Lamont] Peterson, [Paul] McCloskey and them guys. But it's funny because every guy I want to fight overprices themselves. These fighters are good fighters.
Facing the winner of the Tim Bradley-Devon Alexander unification, taking place on January 29. The target date to face the winner is July 30 in the United States.
Khan - I want to fight the winner of that fight and then maybe move up [to welterweight.] I want to have a fight inbetween that fight. I want to stay busy. There is no reason to wait six months.
Facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the end of the year or early 2012.
Khan - He is on the radar. I think that fight will happen in 12 to 15 months. I want to mature, I want to get to my peak. I don't think I've hit my peak yet. I'll be more experienced, more wiser. I don't want to take a shortcut, I want to fight the best fighters out there.
