British rivals Amir Khan (26-3, 18KOs) and Kell Brook (28-0, 18KOs) sat side by side on a recent episode of Ringside on Sky Sports - and the two fighters erupted in a war of words when the two of them were asked to reflect on their past sparring sessions when the boxers were much younger. Khan is still fighting at junior welterweight but plans to make a move to 147 in 2013.

Khan: We had great sparring sessions.

Brook: And what happened?

Khan: Come on Kell, you know what happened. I used to box Kell all around the ring. That's the honest truth...I wouldn't lie to you.

Brook: You got schooled.

Khan: I never got schooled. Listen, I was training for the Olympic games at that time. And Kell was at the juniors and I used to school Kell in the ring.

Brook: I've never been schooled...ever.

Khan: Oh come on Kell. Come on Kell.

The hosts would interrupt their back and forth banter and Khan told them - "It was something in the amateur days. It was a long time ago. Now we're professionals and it's very different. Kell has come a long way and so have I."

But later in the segment, the two of them started trading words again when the idea of a potential grudge match was discussed.

Khan: I still feel that I'm a league above [Brook] but if I have to step back a league and knock him out, then I'm going to have to do that. I think he's going to be bitter about how I treated him in sparring. He's still bitter about the sparring. I will move up to 147 and when I do I will knock Kell Brook out...now I've said it in front of everyone.

Brook: I'm going to knock him out. I would take him apart. You like to talk a fight. It's not about your trainer or your chin, it's your defense and when you mix it up you and you will get hit [you get knocked out].

Khan: Have you been in there with anyone decent? have you been in there with anyone decent? You turned down [Tim] Bradley. You turned down [Marcos] Maidana.

Brook: I'll fight Bradley. I'll do a unification fight after I win my world title.

Khan: If you beat Bradley, I will fight the winner between Kell Brook and Bradley.

Brook: You're always saying stuff. You said the same thing about Matthew Hatton. You said fight Matthew Hatton and then you fight me.

Khan: I never said that. I did not say that, but if I fought you I would knock you out.
