WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan says there was fear in the eyes of challenger Paulie Malignaggi. When the two of them were talking trash at the end of Wednesday's final press conference, Khan saw a different look in his opponent's eyes. Khan defends his title against Malignaggi on Saturday at New York's Madison Square Garden.
He is prepared to go the full twelve rounds with Malignaggi but prefers to end the fight with an explosive knockout. He plans to punish Malignaggi for his comments about Manny Pacquiao and the Wild Card Gym. Malignaggi says Pacquiao is possibly using performance enhancing drugs.
"I can see he's scared. I can see right through the guy. He's scared. He looked nervous. He just wants to get into my head. I'm not going to let him do that. I'm so calm and collect. He won't get to me," Khan said to BoxingScene.com.
"A lot of people in New York are asking me to knock Paulie Malignaggi out and they live in New York. I think I'll have a bigger crowd than Paulie Malignaggi."
