Amir Khan is promising fireworks when he puts his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles on the line against Lamont Peterson on Saturday night.
Eighteen of Khan's 26 professional victories have come by way of knockout and if the Englishman is to be believed, fans can expect another one in Washington.
Khan (26-1) told Sky Sports News: "The viewers at home know they are going to get fireworks. They know when Amir Khan fights it is going to be explosive, there's always that explosive style there.
"They are going to be on the edge of their sofas and the fans that are going to be here will be on the edge of their seats. It is going to be a great performance from me. I am sharp, I am ready, I am in the best condition I can ever be in."
Khan's trainer Freddie Roach certainly believes his man is as well prepared as he has ever been for the fight against a dangerous opponent. And with hugely lucractive contests against the likes of Floyd Mayweather or Tim Bradley being mooted, Khan cannot afford an off-night.
Roach said: "There will be no slip-ups. He is in great shape. He has trained really hard. We have had great sparring for this fight and he is just 100 per cent ready for this fight."
But Peterson (29-1-1) is as unfazed by the glitzy build-up to fight night as he is by the prospect of facing Khan, believing his boxing skills can cause an upset.
He told Sky Sports News: ""I am just doing something I have been doing for 17 years. It is no problem, I do this every day. Just because there is a few cameras in my face or bright lights on, it's still the same thing.
"I am totally confident. I know I'll win. I know I can out-box him and I know I can hurt him, so we'll see what happens when we get in there and see how that pans out."
